Welcome to The Lament
of the Perpetual Miner!
This is a project sitting somewhere between a marathon
gaming session and a psychological study. I’m going to be locking myself in a
room for 21 days and immersing myself entirely in Minecraft. I’ll keep a journal
detailing my inevitable descent into madness as I go through the actual
experience of being dumped into the Miner’s shoes.
As to why, well, that’s simple and complex. The quick answer
is that Minecraft is entirely unique and the experience is unlike anything
else. The long answer is best gotten from the essay that inspired the experiment.
